For the Grec Festival 2023 in Barcelona, LedsC4 developed a sustainable lighting concept with the ONA installation, inspired by the movement of the sea and the idea of community.
The starting point of the project was the festival motto centered on sustainability and collective togetherness. The installation takes up this idea and translates it into an immersive lighting experience that accompanies visitors along the main path through the garden grounds. Light, color, and materiality create an atmosphere that appeals emotionally and also encourages reflection on the environment and responsibility.

Challenge
The challenge was to create a temporary installation that is both aesthetically convincing and communicates a clear message. The light should not only stage the space, but also convey an awareness of sustainability and the protection of the oceans.
At the same time, the installation had to integrate sensitively into the existing garden architecture of the Teatre Grec and enable a coherent visitor route.
Solution
Conception of a narrative lighting installation
Development of a design concept that visually interprets the movement of waves and makes the theme of community spatially tangible.Lighting design with dynamic scenes
Use of pre-programmed lighting scenes to simulate water movements and create a lively play of light and shadow along the main path.Sustainable material integration
Use of recycled plastic panels as projection surfaces to consistently implement the project's ecological aspirations.Holistic integration of the surroundings
Integration of additional lighting elements into pergolas, facades, and seating areas to create a harmonious overall impression throughout the festival grounds.Collaboration and environmental contribution
Collaboration with environmental initiatives to actively reduce plastic waste and support sustainable measures beyond the installation.
The result is an impressive lighting installation that combines design and message, offering visitors an immersive experience that goes far beyond mere illumination.
