For this exclusive private villa in the south of Baden, AK Lichtdesign developed a holistic lighting concept that began at a very early planning stage. Starting with the Pre Lighting Concept and the Pre Interior Concept, lighting design was deliberately defined as the foundation for further interior development. The goal was to make architecture, materials, and spatial proportions perceptible through light from the very beginning and to establish a clear design stance.

The project is currently in the implementation phase. Step by step, the planned lighting atmosphere is becoming visible and shows how precisely coordinated lighting solutions structure spaces, create depth, and generate emotional quality. The implementation consistently follows the original concept and is fine-tuned on site to achieve a harmonious yet individual result.

Challenge

The challenge was to understand light not as a subsequent furnishing element, but as an integral part of architectural and interior planning. Even in the early concept phase, light guidance, spatial effect, and materiality had to be precisely coordinated with one another in order to achieve a timeless and high-quality overall effect.

Solution

The lighting concept is based on a clear design idea and a close integration of architecture, interior, and lighting.

  1. Early integration of lighting planning
By developing a Pre Lighting and Pre Interior Concept, light was defined as a central design element and integrated into further planning.

  2. Architecture-related lighting design
Light emphasizes spatial proportions, surfaces, and materials and supports the architectural clarity of the villa.

  3. Atmospheric lighting moods
Carefully coordinated lighting moods create orientation, depth, and a homely atmosphere with high emotional quality.

  4. Precise implementation and on-site fine-tuning
During realization, the concept is continuously reviewed and adjusted to optimally balance light quality, effect, and details.

The final result of this villa will be presented shortly and demonstrates how light, as a design tool, gives spaces identity, atmosphere, and timeless quality.
